Rotary Club of Toowoomba East (RCTE) provided essential maintenance and considerable improvements to the Bell Street Mall facility which was the 'home' of Toowoomba Flexi School for the first four years. Computer workstations were built to accommodate eight students. RCTE has provided in excess of $15,000 worth of goods and services.
In 2000, in partnership with Toowoomba Regional Council (TRC), RCTE invested over $60,000 to establish a new community youth facility in Chalk Drive. The new building was the old Telstra Training Centre located on the premises of the Armstrong Auto Group. John Armstrong, a principal of the company and member or RCTE donated the building and it was transported to its current location in Chalk Drive. RCTE members (with TRC staff) erected the building on the new site and it was renovated and refurbished under the guidance of Col Davidson, a local architect and member of RCTE.
Further support from RCTE has been:
- the provision of an award each year which is presented at the Mayoral Awards Ceremony
- ongoing funded and in-kind supprt equipment, facilities and maintenacne
- funding for students to participate in the Rotary Youth Leadership Award program
