Tertiary Preparation Program (TPP)
If you don't have the required qualifications or experience to get into the university program of your choice, the Tertiary Preparation Program (TPP) will help you develop the skills you need. Then, when you successfully complete the program, you are guaranteed entry into University of Southern Queensland (USQ) undergraduate programs.
The duration of this course will depend on what you want to achieve and your needs. Generally full-time study for one semester will gain you entry to a degree program. If you just want to test your ability to undertake tertiary study, or want to refresh your knowledge of mathematics or science, one course may be enough. However, direct undergraduate entry to USQ and eligibility for a fee-free place is dependent on you completing the core component and any other courses that are required for entry to a particular academic program.
How to apply
To apply for TPP you will need to complete the Application form online and submit to USQ.
You will also need to complete a Communication test and a Maths test. These are used to assist staff in determining your level of reading comprehension, written expression and mathematical understanding. You may start TPP in Semester 1 (March), Semester 2 (July), or Semester 3 (November) via Distance Education. No fees are charged for enrolments in the TPP. All places offered in the TPP are fee-free.
If you have any further questions please call USQ on 1800 269 500 or email study@usq.edu.au.
Please visit the tertiary preparation program on the USQ website for further information.
Flexi students please note: If you are in Year 12 at Toowoomba Flexi School you are able to undertake the TPP course as part of your Semester 2 learning program to guarantee entry into university the following year. If you are interested in pursuing this option, please see Linda Bourke, Monday to Friday at the Flexi School office.
