During the June/July school holidays Year 11 Flexi student Ryan, competed in the Australian Polocrosse Nationals in Chinchilla.
To get to this level Ryan had to nominate for selection to represent Queensland at the Nationals late last year along with many other hopeful players. Each carnival that he attended since; he was observed by state selectors to assess his suitability for a team.
Ryan and his family were delighted to find out that he had successfully been selected to represent the Junior Mixed team at the recent Nationals event in Chinchilla. At this event Ryan was playing alongside seven other 15- and 16-year-olds, some of whom he has been teammates with for some time.
Ryan's horse, Rosebrook Kitty, had played at National level before in the Woman's team – and he was extremely grateful to have such an experienced mare to work with.
